Mother Angelica used to say that all Catholics should be Saints and aim for heaven.
If we aim for heaven and fall short we will end up in Purgatory. We will get to heaven eventually.
If we aim for Purgatory and we fall short then we end up in Hell. Hell is not a place we ever want to be.
